Twitter

I tried explaining to a friend (who admittedly is not a big social media fan) why writers have flocked to Twitter and didn’t have ah, the greatest explanation.

But in either case, let’s share our Twitters so we can connect with other Wrimos! Since @ ing people can @ mention someone with that name (even if that username is not you), it’s probably best to share the direct link to your Twitter profile.

So who are you? What do you talk about there?

My Twitter handle is the same as here, and I usually talk about everyday life, dogs, Pokemon Go, NaNo, and complaining about things (especially the fact that it’s not bedtime/the weekend/whatever yet). https://twitter.com/sushimustwrite

I use mine to talk about different things, shows, movies, random things happening to me, retweeting funny/interesting things.

Basically, I use Twitter for the daily part of my author stuff. It’s https://twitter.com/ladyofmind721

I now co-host a hashtag game called CharactersHell, which is part of the CharactersTell brand. It’s just a good way to talk about your book works and think about them in new ways. Sometimes I even remember to answer for my work too.

My writing Twitter is @LilFairenWrites. I keep it focused on writing-related stuff: my thoughts on stories/tropes, Twitter writing games, and prattling about the stuff I write.

@macconnell_a. I’m very new to Twitter, been around for maybe a month now? Trying to figure it all out, but coming across a lot of nice things that I wouldn’t have expected.

Mine is twitter.com/whomstwrotethis

I keep mine writing-related and 100% politics-free, and I like participating in hashtag games (of the WIP-related variety).

Heyo I’m at https://twitter.com/BaileyAnneBrave tweeting about my art, nerdy interests, sometimes politics, and music. And writing, but tbh usually mostly in NaNo season. I am unironically enthusiastic about making new friends, so come hang out!

A lot of writers can’t stop writing. On Twitter you can write constantly about nothing and most people won’t notice, unlike Facebook where notifications make it easier to track specific people and heavily highlight your controversial opinions.

I don’t post often, but I’m also @XanderWrites there

He said “But doesn’t the character limit stop you?” I said “Uh… no? We still babble on. Also, Twitter makes me love strangers while Facebook makes me hate people I know.”

That’s part of what I was getting at with the controversial opinions. You and others will get more reactions for those posts so their more likely to show up in the feed. And it might be something they don’t care that much about but now they have to defend their position on it against a bunch of people who have forgotten civil discourse (assuming the poster knew it in the first place.)

I will say I hate Twitter’s notification system. it’s gotten better with the redesign, I’m able to follow a few people just through push notifications, but the emails that are just reactions to reactions? No thank you.
